Overview

Purpose of the Role: The Senior Trust Education Director for Inclusion will provide strategic leadership across the South Lincolnshire Academies Trust to ensure that all pupils (particularly those who are disadvantaged or facing additional barriers) receive high-quality, inclusive support that enables them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. This position is open to qualified teachers (QTS desirable) or highly experienced support staff already working at a senior leadership level within inclusion, SEND, safeguarding or pastoral care.

You will lead our inclusion pastoral partnerships including SEN, PP, and LAC leaders across the Trust. This will ensure consistency and implementation of the strategy.

Working routine

As part of the Trust Educational Improvement Team, this role combines Trust-wide responsibility for inclusive practice with hands-on involvement in the day-to-day operational challenges in the schools, acting as a visible and accessible leader. It is essential that the postholder is able to work across all Trust schools, with time allocated according to need and priorities. A base school will be allocated appropriately. Travel mileage beyond the normal daily commute will be reimbursed in line with Trust policy.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Significant leadership experience in SEND, PP, inclusion or pastoral roles.
  • Deep understanding of legislation relating to the above areas.
  • Key knowledge of the new Ofsted Framework in relation to Inclusion.
  • Strong communication, coaching and relational skills.
  • Ability to lead teams.
  • Proven track record of improvement and impact in your leadership role.
  • Ability to analyse data and drive strategic improvement.
  • Leadership experience in whole school strategies.

Desirable Criteria

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • NASENCo qualification.
  • Training in mental health leadership or trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience leading Trust wide or multischool initiatives.
