South Lanarkshire Council is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Day Care Worker to deliver high-quality, outcome-focused care to individuals using our services. This role is central to supporting people to achieve their personal outcomes while ensuring their health, safety, and wellbeing within legislative and council frameworks. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and person-centred environment, working collaboratively with service users, families, and professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, review, and support plan the needs of individuals to ensure high standards of care and positive outcomes
  • Deliver direct care, including support with mobility and personal care where required
  • Facilitate group activities, individualised support, and passenger assistance duties
  • Maintain accurate, timely records of care and support provided
  • Work in partnership with families, social workers, and external organisations
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety policies, including risk assessments
  • Contribute to a safe, secure, and inclusive environment for all service users
What will You bring

You will have experience working as part of a social care or healthcare team and feel confident supporting individuals with personal care needs, including moving and assisting. You'll be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and have competent IT skills to support record‐keeping and daily tasks. You will support individuals to take part in a range of physical and recreational activities, helping to promote independence, wellbeing, and participation. You will also be willing to undertake all mandatory training and demonstrate a positive commitment to ongoing learning and development.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

You may already hold, or be willing to work towards, an SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Social Care, or an HNC in Social Care. Experience using Microsoft Office applications would be an advantage.
