The Depute Head Teacher is required to:

  • Assist the Head Teacher in the overall management of the school as part of a Management Team.
  • Deputise for the Head Teacher in their absence and have responsibility for the leadership, good management, and strategic direction of colleagues.
  • Have responsibility for the leadership and management of our Additional Support Needs provision, which is currently around 60 pupils.

This post is considered a Regulated Role with Children, in respect of the Disclosure Scotland Act 2020. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.

It is a legal requirement for any teacher teaching in a Scottish state school to be registered with GTC Scotland, General Teaching Council (Scotland) Registration.

An Overseas Criminal Records Check is required for applicants born outside the UK or who have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period of three months in the past 10 years. Applicants are responsible for providing evidence of the Overseas Criminal Record Check, which must be translated into English and should come from the police, judicial authority, government department, or home embassy of the country concerned.
