Position Facility Supervisor – cleaning services (Lanark Grammar School, Kirklands Road, Lanark, ML11 9AJ).
Working Hours & Pattern: 15 hours per week, term time basis: Monday–Thursday 4 pm–7 pm and Friday 2 pm–5 pm. 7.5 hours as supervisor and 7.5 hours as cleaner.
Hourly Rate: Cleaner rate: £13.33 per hour. Supervisor rate: £13.64–£13.79 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out duties on floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, sanitary areas, walls, etc.
- Monitor cleaning standards against specifications and COSHH regulations.
- Report any difficult issues or safety concerns to management.
- Set up rooms for lets and act as the on‑site responsible person for health and safety.
- Supervise a team of Facility Assistants, assisting with training, recruitment, attendance, briefings, and team brief.
- Maintain building security and act as key holder as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in cleaning and facilities management, preferably with supervisory duties.
- Knowledge of COSHH and health & safety regulations.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Applicants must complete a mandatory Overseas Criminal Records Check if born outside the UK or have lived/worked abroad for a continuous period of three months in the last 10 years.
- Applicants must pass a Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 2003 check.
- Applicants must comply with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 – suitable for working with children and adults.
- Preferred candidates will be required to join or update the PVG Scheme before a formal offer.
- Recruitment checks must be completed within a reasonable timeframe to avoid automatic withdrawal.
