Location: West Mains Primary School

Hours: 27.5 hours per week, term time, 39 weeks per year.

Work Pattern: Monday - Friday

Salary / Hourly Rate: £13.80 - £14.83 per hour.

To meet the needs of pupils who require support beyond that provided by their Class Teacher or Early Years Key Worker, we offer a flexible role that enables School Support Assistants to work collaboratively as a team and respond to the changing needs of pupils and schools. The role is dynamic and varied, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach. These posts are predominantly term-time, offering an excellent work/life balance. Supporting Pupils within Additional Support Needs

  • Provide in-class and out-of-class support for pupils with complex needs, including medical needs and personal care as outlined in Health Care Plans.
  • Administer medication and offer physical and emotional support for vulnerable pupils, including those who are non-verbal or have needs related to ASD, attachment, or communication.
  • Undertake relevant training (e.g., moving and assisting) as required.
  • Provide nurturing and calm support within the school environment.
  • Contribute to supervision in shared areas during intervals and lunchtimes, promoting independence and the school’s values.
