Location: Hamilton Area (Peripatetic) Hours: 35 hours per week. Salary: Depute Head Teacher 8, £80,646 per year.

We are now inviting applications to join the Education Resources Service as a Senior Manager Pupil Support on a permanent basis. Your role will be to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment to support schools to meet the needs of children with additional support needs and meet their statutory duties in that regard. You will have a strategic brief that will take forward Additional Support for Learning and the GIRFEC wellbeing agenda.

You will also have an area remit in which you will provide pastoral support and advice to headteachers and liaise with parents, partner agencies and third sector organisations to devise innovative and creative solutions so children can progress in their learning. You will also be a key player in the Council’s Children’s Service Plan, working closely with Social Work, NHS and third sector colleagues to make things better for our children and young people.

You are a senior manager with a teaching background. You will have a detailed knowledge of inclusive practice and procedures. You will be a highly skilled communicator who can manage and resolve often complex situations. You will be required to travel throughout South Lanarkshire.

Preferred candidates identified after the selection event process will be required to assist the recruitment team, if need be, to ensure timely completion of recruitment checks. If recruitment checks are not completed within a reasonable timescale, you may automatically be withdrawn from this position.

Teacher Salary In line with the Teachers’ Conditions of Service, your salary for the remainder of this school salary year, which runs in conjunction with the academic session, may be recalculated to reflect how teachers accrue pay.

It is a legal requirement for any teacher teaching in a Scottish state school to be registered with GTC Scotland, General Teaching Council (Scotland) Registration.

An Overseas Criminal Records Check is required where applicants born outside the UK (Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland) or who have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period of three months in the past 10 years.
