Location: Meldrum Gardens, East Kilbride

Hours: 37hrs per week, permanent

Salary / Hourly Rate: £55,386 - £56,216

The Enhanced Senior will respond to and manage crisis situations as they arise e.g. accidents, incidents and emergencies in relation to the care of service users. You should be able to deal with high demands and have a calm manner whilst dealing with competing and conflicting pressures. In these situations, the impact of decisions made in relation to the care and support of service users is crucial. You should have the ability to assess situations to ensure sound and credible decisions are made under scrutiny from other agencies, e.g. the Police, Care Inspectorate, H&S executive, SSSC, legal challenge.

You will be responsible for:

  • Staffing rotas, overseeing allocated workloads for each shift and responding to changing priorities, including emergencies.
  • Undertaking direct observations to assess employee performance at all grades, identifying good practice and areas for improvement.
  • Daily observation of safe checks i.e. counting monies held and evaluating against the records, reporting of discrepancies in accordance with financial procedures.
  • Detailed recording in service user case records in relation to any incidents or significant events, ensuring that all key people involved in their care are updated and included in care planning discussions.
  • Monitoring and ensuring Senior Social Care Workers produce audit reports for health and safety inspections and respond to external audits such as Environmental Health, Fire Safety audit - responsibility for developing action plans and making decisions as required.
  • Collating information and making recommendations to the Unit Manager regarding actions/expenditure required to ensure the safety of the building and equipment.
  • Supporting the Manager and contributing to achieving the objectives for health and social care.
  • Responding to and managing complaints involving general public, employees and service users/colleagues/other services.
  • Supporting employees via maximising attendance and employee assistance programmes.
