The aim of Social Work Resources is to promote social welfare and provide effective care and support to meet the needs of vulnerable people in South Lanarkshire. In partnership with community planning partners, voluntary and independent provider organisations, the council offers services to enable, support, improve and protect the health and social care of people using the services.
Location: McKillop Gardens, East Kilbride
Hours: 28.5 hours per week, temporary for 6 months
Work Pattern: 10pm – 7.30am
Salary / Hourly Rate: £30,700 – £31,577

This post is a senior care role within residential settings, with a requirement to progress and maintain regulatory registration where applicable and to work in partnership with appropriate agencies and council departments to support service users.
Responsibilities:- Manage and develop staff in accordance with Council policy and procedures including performance appraisal, attendance maximisation, supervision and induction.
- Ensure residents’ needs are recorded in personal plans and that risk assessments are completed.
- Work in partnership with other agencies and council departments on behalf of service users and contribute to client-focused meetings.
- Administer prescribed medications to service users and produce and present reports for reviews.
- Ensure staff operate financial systems within required procedures.
- Prepare, monitor and maintain reports and documentation as required for service reviews and inspections.
- SVQ Level 3 or HNC and working towards 2 units of SVQ Level 4.
- Hours to be worked in accordance with a roster including evenings and weekends.
- Progress to and maintain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of appointment and maintain registered status thereafter.
- Experience in caring for older people within a residential setting.
Post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Scotland Act 2020 and is a Regulated Role with Adults under the Disclosure Scotland Act 2020. It is an offence to apply if barred from working with Adults. Preferred candidates will join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to offer.
