Hamilton Business Unit

Hours: 37 hours per week, fixed term until September 2027

South Lanarkshire Council are recruiting for an experienced Joiner to support the delivery of various works programmes within Building Services. You will have a flexible approach to managing varied workloads as you will be required to carry out all associated Joinery tasks including refurbishment and maintenance works.

You will be time-served with trade qualifications SVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in the appropriate trade discipline and be able to demonstrate sound practical technical competencies in delivering high quality of workmanship in all aspects of your trade. You should display experience of working within both commercial and domestic properties within the construction industry.

You will be required to demonstrate sound knowledge and experience of all types of Joinery works associated with working in Public Buildings and Schools would be advantageous.

Overseas Criminal Records Check is required where applicants born outside the UK (Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland) or who have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period of three months in the past 10 years. Applicants are responsible for providing evidence of the Overseas Criminal Record Check. The check must be translated into English and should come from the police, judicial authority, government department or home embassy of the country or countries concerned. The check must include an official statement confirming that the applicant does not have any history of or pending criminal record proceedings.
