Hours: 35 hours per week

Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday 8:45am - 4:45pm and Friday 8:45am - 4:15pm

Salary: £40,804 - £46,991 annual salary

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to join our Traffic and Transportation team. Playing a vitally important role in keeping our towns and villages and people moving, the main duties include:

  • Traffic and transportation engineering
  • Road safety
  • Strategy development
  • Funding bids
  • Sustainable transport

You should have knowledge and experience of legislation and technical aspects in this area of work (e.g. TSRGD, Traffic Signs Manual and relevant Acts). You will play a vital role in transportation planning and contributing to policy making and strategy development. Successful candidates will also have supervisory responsibility.

Experience in the development and delivery of traffic and transportation related projects, both major and minor, would be advantageous, including the procurement and financial monitoring required. You should be able to work under pressure to specific deadlines and directions, whilst working as part of a wider specialist team.

Successful candidates must have a HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent in a relevant subject, and ideally you should be an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer or working towards this. You will be expected to travel throughout the Council area. A commitment to customer focus, service delivery and responsiveness will be vital as will the ability to commit to our constant efforts to refine, innovate and improve delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of this specialist team tasked with taking forward a number of important Local Transport Strategy priorities as well as progressing some key elements of the Glasgow City Region City Deal projects.
