Hours: 15 hours per week
Work Pattern: Monday - Friday 6am - 9am
Hourly Rate: £13.33 per hour
This post is temporary until 31 March 2026.
Community & Enterprise Resources provide catering and cleaning services in many locations and buildings across South Lanarkshire including schools, council offices and police stations.
Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out the cleaning function on floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, sanitary areas, walls etc.
- Reporting to the Cleaning Supervisor.
- Undertaking practical tasks such as using a buffing machine to clean floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, sanitary areas, walls etc in line with a pre-determined schedule.
- Ensuring the security of the building is maintained, and acting as a key-holder as required.
- Monitoring standards of cleaning in line with specification/COSHH regulations, reporting any difficult issues to management.
- Removing refuse and dealing with waste ensuring appropriate disposal.
Requirements and Additional Information:
- Preferred candidates identified after the selection process will be required to assist the recruitment team, if needed, to ensure timely completion of recruitment checks.
- If recruitment checks are not completed within a reasonable timescale you may automatically be withdrawn from this position.
- Canvassing of Elected Members or employees of South Lanarkshire Council directly or indirectly in connection with any appointment within the Council shall disqualify the applicant.
- Overseas Criminal Records Check is required where applicants were born outside the UK or have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period in the past 10 years.
- Applicants are responsible for providing evidence of the Overseas Criminal Record Check. The check must be translated into English and should come from the police, judicial authority, government department or home embassy of the country concerned.
- The check must include an official statement confirming that the applicant does not have any history of or pending criminal record proceedings.
- Checks may be carried out to authenticate the documents provided.
