South Lanarkshire Council Amenity Services is looking for a landscape development officer to work on play design, park and open space development addressing both hard and soft landscaping. Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in landscape/play/garden design and be competent in using design software.
- Preparing designs using Autocad or similar, from concept drawings to detailed designs, preparation of budget costings, bill of quantities, specifications and tender documents.
- Liaising with clients regarding landscape projects ensuring compliance with council policies, standing orders and relevant legislation.
- Providing horticultural professional advice to stakeholders both internal and external.
- Ensuring that designs are completed in accordance with pre-determined timescales, safety standards and within budget.
- Experience in working with multidisciplined teams and demonstration of excellent communication skills is essential.
- Knowledge of NEC contract management document preparation would be advantageous, as well as experience in dealing with contractors.
Foreign Police Check: Candidates should be able to detail any gaps in employment and provide a foreign police check where applicable for any periods living or working abroad.
