About the school: The vision of South Lanarkshire Council is to āWork Together to Improve the Quality of Life for Everyone in South Lanarkshireā. Victoria Park School is situated in Carluke in the Clydesdale area of South Lanarkshire. We share a campus with High Mill Primary School. Our school caters for pupils within South Lanarkshire who present with a broad range of complex additional support needs from Primary 1 ā Primary 7. Pupils are allocated a placement through the ASN Primary Allocations process. Our pupils benefit from smaller class sizes and higher staff ratios to support their learning.
All children attending Scotlandās local authority schools follow a Curriculum for Excellence. We use the Milestones to Support Learners with Complex Needs to inform our teaching, planning and assessment. At Victoria Park School we adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of all pupils and we use active learning, Play Based Learning, practical tasks and community links to make learning relevant and challenging. In our school pupils have access to soft play, a sensory room and hydrotherapy pool to support their wider learning and well-being. The pupils have access to an internal courtyard as well as a garden for breaks and play.
The Additional Support Needs Department caters for students who require additional support across areas of the curriculum. South Lanarkshire Council schools have recently undergone an £800m modernisation programme. The aim of this programme is simple - to create high quality additional support needs and primary and secondary provision in South Lanarkshire - fit for the twenty first century. During this time we have built and modernised numerous Schools. It is our mission to make positive meaningful changes in the lives of young people. We aim to provide an exceptional learning and working environment for pupils and staff and work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals. We are committed to the education, care and welfare of young people in a childcare environment.
You will assist in the delivery of the curriculum and contribute to whole school initiatives, as appropriate. You will carry out the range of duties outlined in Annexe B of "A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century".

Teacher Salary: In line with the Teachersā Conditions of Service, your salary for the remainder of this school salary year, which runs in conjunction with the academic session, may be recalculated to reflect how teachers accrue pay. GTC Registration: It is a legal requirement for any teacher teaching in a Scottish state school to be registered with GTC Scotland, General Teaching Council (Scotland) Registration.
Overseas Criminal Records Check: An Overseas Criminal Records Check is required where applicants born outside the UK (Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland) or who have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period of three months in the past 10 years. Applicants are responsible for providing evidence of the Overseas Criminal Record Check. The check must be translated into English and should come from the police, judicial authority, government department or home embassy of the country or countries concerned.
