Location: Fleet Services, 4 Livingstone Boulevard, Hamilton Technology Park, Blantyre, G72 0BP

Hours: 37 hours per week

Work Pattern:

  • Early Shift: Monday - Thursday 6am - 2pm and Friday 6am - 1.30pm
  • Late Shift: Monday - Thursday 2pm - 10pm and Friday 12.30pm - 8pm

Salary: £44,641 - £45,625 annual salary

We have one of the largest local authority fleets in Scotland with a modern fleet of vehicles ranging from small cars to 32-ton tippers and various types of small and large plant items. Fleet Services maintain the full range of over 1,700 vehicles and plant operated by the Council in a fully equipped workshop in Blantyre and a satellite workshop in Lanark.

Join us and you'll have the opportunity to lead a shift across the range of fleet we operate, ultimately working towards maximum availability of assets from small electric cars to 32-ton tippers. We provide a wide range of supports to the local community, operating throughout day and night.

A relevant qualification, Time served technician with proven skills in a commercial and/or operational fleet workshop environment, comprehensive and relevant expertise within Workshop management with knowledge of compliance/legislative/new technological requirements. Knowledge and experience of relevant Health and Safety legislation. Experience of vehicle maintenance, alternative fuels vehicle and MOT standards. A current full cat B licence is essential and an LGV/PCV licence would be desirable although training may be provided. You'll also work towards holding an HGV driving licence and a drivers CPC qualification.

This role will be an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to enhance their existing skills through working on varied fleet as well as benefitting from manufacturers product training.
