Permanent positions have arisen for Grounds Operatives (Arboricultural Climber) within Grounds Services.
We are looking for Grounds Operatives (Arboricultural Climber) who value working as part of a small specialist team and demonstrate a willingness to learn, along with a strong commitment to delivering excellent service and high-quality tree care. You will have the ability to undertake a range of ground-based arboricultural tasks and an active interest in climbing and keenness for further professional career development. Working as part of a three/four-person team you will assist the climbers in undertaking various types of aerial tree work operations and carry out felling of small to large trees along with ground-based chainsaw/Labour duties to all council owned trees. You will help manage the work site at ground level ensuring it is safe and efficient. Works will be in compliance with best practice, Council Policies and Health and Safety Legislation.
It is essential for candidates to have experience and interest in the tree care industry and should hold CS30, CS31, or equivalent qualifications and woodchipper experience. CS33, CS34, CS38, CS39, or equivalent qualifications would be desirable; however, training will be given. A driving licence to B+E/C1+E/C and the ability to tow is also desirable. It is also a requirement for applicants to attend out-of-hours emergencies and undertake standby duties during storms or periods of high winds.
Training is available for candidates who do not have extensive experience in the climbing aspect of this role.
