Calderside Academy is part of an £800m+ modernisation programme aimed at creating high-quality additional support needs and primary and secondary provision in South Lanarkshire. The Depute Head Teacher is required to:

  • Assist the Head Teacher in the overall management of the school as part of a Management Team.
  • Deputise for the Head Teacher in their absence and have responsibility for the leadership, good management and strategic direction of colleagues.

You will assist in the delivery of the curriculum and contribute to whole school initiatives, as appropriate, and will carry out the range of duties outlined in Annexe B of 'A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century'.

This post is considered a Regulated Role with Children and/or Adults, in respect of the Disclosure Scotland Act 2020. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children and/or adults.

It is a legal requirement for any teacher teaching in a Scottish state school to be registered with GTC Scotland, General Teaching Council (Scotland) Registration.

An Overseas Criminal Records Check is required where applicants born outside the UK or who have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period of three months in the past 10 years. Applicants are responsible for providing evidence of the Overseas Criminal Record Check.
