Location: SLLC Headquarters, Floor 5, Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton
Hours: 35 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday - Thursday, 8.45am - 4.45pm (1 hour unpaid break), Friday 8.45am - 4.15pm (30 minutes unpaid break)
Salary Band: £42,228 - £43,158 per annum
Duration: Fixed term until 31 March 2029
South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture (SLLC) is seeking to appoint a Cultural Development Officer to lead the development and delivery of our cultural strategy across South Lanarkshire. This exciting role will play a key part in recognising and celebrating the unique identity of each town and village, supporting a place-based approach to cultural development. Working closely with local communities, the postholder will help shape and deliver a strategy that reflects local heritage, history, arts and culture, while recognising the vital contribution of Arts, Libraries and Museums within our communities.
A key responsibility of the role will be the administration and delivery of a community grants scheme, designed to support community-led cultural activities and events that share and celebrate local identity, creativity and heritage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a place-based cultural strategy for South Lanarkshire
- Manage and administer a community cultural grants programme
- Engage, consult and collaborate with local communities and partners
- Support and enable community-led cultural activities and events
- Work closely with SLLC's Community and Education Team
- Collaborate with Arts, Libraries and Museums development teams to align cultural objectives
