South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture SCIO is a Scottish charitable incorporated organisation responsible for the delivery of leisure and cultural activities on behalf of South Lanarkshire Council. South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team at Carluke Leisure Centre as a Health and Fitness Duty Officer. You will be responsible to assist the Recreation Officer in the management of the day to day operation of the facilities. This includes ensuring staff are managed, developed and reviewed to effectively deliver the Health and Fitness operation of the facility, delivering staff training and ensuring the facility standards remain high whilst improving customer retention. The successful candidate will also work with our Health Team to deliver health programmes within the local community. Outreach work will also be required.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for financial processes, including payroll, ordering, and cash management.
- Assist in maintaining budgets and trading activities.
- Responsible for ensuring staff are effectively managed, developed and reviewed to effectively deliver the operation of the facilities.
- Undertake project work involved with events, building equipment, and marketing within pre‑determined timescales.
- Provide customer care to high standards in line with the Business Plan and SLLC Strategy.
- Responsible for the delivery of training.
A current BACR or PSI qualification is desirable and a Level 3 or equivalent qualification is essential. Expected to work some evenings and weekends. Shift pattern to be confirmed.
Qualifications
- Level 3 health and fitness qualification or equivalent.
- Health training (BACR – British Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation or PSI – Postural Stability Instructor) qualification desirable.
