Location: East Kilbride Arts Centre, Old Coach Road, East Kilbride
Hours: 9.71 hours per week (annualised hours)
Salary Band: £18.34 - £18.85 per hour
Shift pattern: Saturday and Sunday 9:30am - 4pm (30 mins unpaid break)
Please note that an additional 3 hours per week will be worked in the role of Technician, paid at a rate of £13.80 per hour. This time will be allocated to kiln preparation and cleaning.
Duration: Fixed term until 31st March 2027
Job Profile: South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Ceramics Tutor with general experience and practical delivery skills in ceramic pottery. A working knowledge of wheel thrown ware as well as a range of slip cast and hand built production is essential. Technical requirements include knowledge of working with a kiln, recycling clay etc. We are looking for a confident practitioner with the skills to teach both children and adult learners across a range of ability levels.
About the Role: You will assist in the delivery of our programme of progressive classes and courses, as well as one-off workshops and events. Our programmes run throughout the year and may take place during the daytime, evenings, and weekends. Classes are delivered across multiple venues in South Lanarkshire, supporting diverse age groups and learning needs. The ability to travel between locations is therefore highly desirable.
About You: We are looking for someone who:
- Holds an appropriate qualification or can demonstrate relevant experience within the discipline
- Can deliver engaging, structured sessions for children and adults
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is flexible and able to work across different locations
- Is passionate about inspiring learners and developing confidence
