Location: Various locations in South Lanarkshire which include:

  • Central Area - Eastfield Lifestyles Rutherglen, Hamilton Water Palace, Blantyre Leisure Centre
  • East Area - Dollan Aqua Centre and Strathaven Leisure Centre
  • West Area - Larkhall Leisure Centre, Carluke Leisure Centre, Lanark Lifestyles, Coalburn Leisure Complex

Job Profile: South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture have an award winning Swimming Development programme which delivers high quality lessons in our nine pools. Due to the continued expansion of our programme which currently delivers lessons to around 10,000 people a week, we are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated Lead Swim Teachers who love teaching swimming to a variety of abilities and age groups throughout South Lanarkshire Pools.

All successful candidates should have a Scottish Swim Teacher Qualification (SSTQ) or SQA Level 7 and will be expected to apply for PVG Scheme registration and complete induction before commencing any paid work. When applying please state your preferred location/s.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up / take down equipment where required.
  • Ensure regular, relevant communication and feedback with customers/participants and colleagues in relation to all aspects of the programme.
  • Provide management with relevant performance management information.
  • Plan session or block to be coached ensuring it is of the correct level and standard for the group it is to be delivered to and in line with activity goals.
  • Prepare for and deliver sessions in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines, Normal and Emergency Operating Procedures including Risk Assessments.
  • Deliver a fun, structured and progressive coaching session at the correct level and standard for the group, in-line with the appropriate National Governing Body guidelines.
  • Assist the Swim Development management with staff development and the delivery and development of the programme.
