South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Recreation Assistants (Ice) to work at East Kilbride Ice Rink. You will provide the conditions in which customers can have a safe and enjoyable visit to the Ice Rink. You will work closely with the agencies in working with young people with various needs to enjoy their visit while displaying appropriate social behaviours. It is essential to be able to ice skate to competent standard.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out basic maintenance and fitting of skates and laces.
  • Restock the vending machines at the end of each session.
  • Clean throughout the facility in preparedness for customer’s arrival.
  • Use the grinding wheel to keep hire and customer skates sharp whilst maintaining the abrasive wheel, including changing the wheel.
  • Drive the “Olympia” machine for ice preparation each session.
  • Opening building, carry out checks on plant and equipment and establish and carry out work priorities dealing with customer enquiries.
