Hours: 10 to 15 hours per week – Catering and Cleaning

Shift Pattern: Various shifts available on term‑time and 52 week basis

Hourly Rate: £13.80 per hour

Permanent and temporary posts available. Community and Enterprise Resources provide catering and cleaning services in many locations and buildings across South Lanarkshire including nurseries, schools and council offices.

Facilities Assistant (catering)

You will be responsible for preparing meals within recipe guidelines and undertaking all hygiene work practices in relation to the storage, preparation, cooking and service of food, including the cleaning of food production areas, equipment and utensils. The shift for these vacancies will be between 8 am – 11 am or between 11 am – 3.45 pm or a variation on this.

Facilities Assistant (cleaning)

Duties will include carrying out the cleaning function on floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, sanitary areas, walls and other relevant areas. You will be required to report to the Cleaning Supervisor. The shifts for these vacancies will generally be between 6 am – 9 am or 3 pm – 6 pm or a variation of this.

Recruitment Checks: Preferred candidates identified after the selection event process will be required to assist the recruitment team, if necessary, to ensure timely completion of recruitment checks. If recruitment checks are not completed within a reasonable timescale, you may automatically be withdrawn from this position. Canvassing of elected members or employees of South Lanarkshire Council directly or indirectly in connection with any appointment within the Council shall disqualify the applicant.

Legislative Information: This post is excepted in terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Scotland Act 2020. This post is considered a regulated role with children, in respect of the Disclosure Scotland Act 2020. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made.

Overseas Criminal Records Check: An overseas criminal records check is required where applicants born outside the UK (Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland) or who have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period of twelve months in the past 10 years. Applicants are responsible for providing evidence of the overseas criminal record check. The check must be translated into English and should come from the police, judicial authority, government department or home embassy of the country or countries concerned. The check must include an official statement confirming that the applicant does not have any history of or pending criminal record proceedings. Checks may be carried out to authenticate the documents provided.
