About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to join our Construction Unit within Roads and Transportation Services. The successful candidate will support the delivery and monitoring of both capital and revenue works programmes by providing technical and operational assistance across a range of construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the supervision and monitoring of construction works
- Supporting the preparation of estimates, basic work packages and associated documentation
- Ensuring compliance with on‑site health and safety requirements
- Demonstrating awareness of traffic management systems
- Providing high‑quality customer service and confidently addressing site‑related issues
- Working collaboratively as part of a specialist team within the Construction Unit

Work Pattern
Monday – Thursday 8:45am – 4:45pm and Friday 8:45am – 4:15pm

£33,468 - £38,779 annual salary
Qualifications & Requirements
- Knowledge and experience of a road construction environment, with desirable experience in site supervision, measurement, record‑keeping and operational delivery within a roads or construction setting.
- NC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) or significant relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Current driving licence.
- Overseas Criminal Records Check for those born outside the UK or who have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period of twelve months in the past ten years. Applicants must provide a translated and certified copy of the check, including an official statement confirming no history of or pending criminal record proceedings.
