Community & Enterprise Resources are seeking a skilled road operative Chargehand. Experience in a variety of road maintenance and construction tasks such as surfacing, patching, drain laying, resetting ironwork, kerb laying, slab and block paving is required.

Location: Canderside Depot, Larkhall; Hawbank Depot, East Kilbride; Carnwath Depot; Lesmahagow Depot.

Hours & Work Pattern: 37 hours per week. Rotating pattern: Week 1 – Monday-Thursday 8am – 4:15pm; Friday 8am – 3:30pm. Week 2 – Monday-Thursday 8am – 4:15pm; Friday 8am – 1pm.

Salary: £33,027 - £33,432 per annum, subject to experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in an all-year-round standby rota with overtime and standby pay.
  • Perform road maintenance and construction tasks, including surfacing, patching, drain laying, resetting ironwork, kerb laying, slab and block paving.
  • Supervise staff where required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid full driving licence.
  • HGV licence holders considered, salary dependent on experience and qualifications.
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity desirable.
  • Willingness to work the rotating shift pattern.
