South Lanarkshire Council's Housing & Technical Services Home Improve and Factoring Teams are seeking to recruit an Assistant to undertake a range of clerical duties associated with the Service. Can you rise to the challenge of working within a demanding, fast-paced environment? The role is varied; you will be required to provide an efficient service, producing general correspondence and documents, updating computer systems, carrying out filing, photocopying, scanning and dealing with stationery orders and internal and external mail in order to support operational staff.
You will require to communicate and present information in a clear and concise manner, including liaising with internal and external customers while dealing with specialist clerical activities in accordance with established procedures and standards. We welcome applications from people who are enthusiastic and motivated and have good keyboard, oral and written communication skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
The successful candidate must have experience of working in a busy office environment undertaking various clerical tasks and working to tight timescales. The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills in order to support the Home Improve and Factoring service delivered to our tenants and residents across South Lanarkshire. We require candidates to display a commitment to learning and enhancing their understanding and commitment to the role. The ability to work to tight deadlines, together with problem solving, team working and first-class communication skills are essential. You will enjoy working in a diverse environment and have a flexible attitude to change.
