South Lanarkshire Council Children and Justice Services are recruiting a temporary Fieldwork Manager for a period of 6 months. The post holder will provide strategic managerial oversight for key areas of Justice social work, including Pan‑Lanarkshire Court Services, Recovery‑Orientated Justice Services (ROJS), Whole System Approach (WSA) (18‑25), and Unpaid Work Services (UPW). The role requires a background in strategic service delivery and planning, and implementation of national and local Justice strategies across South Lanarkshire’s Justice Services.

Location and Working Hours

  • Location: Council Headquarters, Hamilton.
  • Hours: 35 hours per week, temporary for 6 months.
  • Work pattern: Monday – Thursday 8:45 am – 4:45 pm, Friday 8:45 am – 4:15 pm.
  • Salary: £67,430 – £68,470 per annum.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic managerial oversight for Justice Social Work, leading on the strategic management of Justice Services.
  • Play a pivotal role in delivering the national community justice strategy and vision for justice priorities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Prior line management and leadership experience.
  • Experience in social work management.
  • 5 years post‑qualifying experience in a statutory social work setting.
  • Background knowledge of Justice Services, including experience with Pan‑Lanarkshire Court Services, ROJS, WSA, and UPW.
  • Non‑Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) at a minimum of Level 2 and allocation to the Violent and Sex Offender Register (ViSOR) information system.

The successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to offer. Applicants born outside the UK or who have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period of three months in the past 10 years must provide an overseas criminal records check.
