South Lanarkshire Council Children and Justice Services – Justice Service Fieldwork Manager
Location: Council Headquarters, Hamilton.
Hours: 35 hours per week, permanent.
Salary: £67,430 – £68,470.
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to provide strategic direction and operational oversight to the public protection section of our service. The post holder will have leadership experience and be able to lead on a range of Justice services including MAPPA, Throughcare, Courts, Whole Systems Approach and Recovery‑Oriented Justice Services. Justice Services are committed to a learning culture through strong performance‑management data; as Fieldwork Manager you will be required to take forward dedicated aspects of quality assurance and service improvement. As part of the Justice senior management team you will play a pivotal role in ensuring we are able to deliver the ambitions of the national community justice strategy and vision for justice priorities. The role requires a background knowledge and understanding of LSCMI risk assessments, MAPPA and statutory social work processes. You will also demonstrate an ability to make complex decisions and communicate them to a range of staff and stakeholders whilst upholding social work values.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and operational oversight to the public protection section.
- Lead on a range of Justice services including MAPPA, Throughcare, Courts, Whole Systems Approach and Recovery‑Oriented Justice Services.
- Support quality assurance and service improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the senior management team to deliver national community justice strategy.
- Make complex decisions and communicate them to staff and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- 5 years post‑qualifying experience in a statutory social work setting.
- Previously held a social work management role.
- Background knowledge of LSCMI risk assessments, MAPPA and statutory social work processes.
- Strong leadership and partnership working experience.
- Ability to make complex decisions and communicate them effectively.
Vetting and Checks
All successful applicants must undertake Non‑Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) at level 2 or above and ViSOR vetting. Overseas Criminal Records Check is required where applicable.
