Position: Electrician, Building Services – South Lanarkshire Council
Location: Hamilton
Business Unit
Hours: 37 hours per week, permanent
Work Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8:00‑4:30, Friday 8:00‑1:30
Salary: £39,856 – £40,995 per year

Responsibilities
- Provide experienced electrical support for building services, including new build, refurbishment, maintenance and a comprehensive testing and inspection programme.
- Manage varied workloads and deliver work in line with targets and predefined timescales.
- Use trade qualifications (SVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds) and demonstrate sound practical technical competencies in managing and delivering jobs.
- Carry out testing and inspection to current regulations with suitable qualifications.
- Maintain a commitment to customer care, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and practice health and safety awareness.
- Travel throughout South Lanarkshire as required.
- Attend a health check if recommended for appointment.
Qualifications
- Trade qualifications in electrical work, SVQ Level 3 or equivalent City & Guilds.
- Experience in commercial or domestic properties within the construction industry.
- Practical technical competencies in testing/inspection to current regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and ability to work to targets.
- Understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
