South Lanarkshire Council's Licensing and Registration Section is seeking to recruit a Clerical Assistant to undertake a range of clerical duties associated with the Service.
Location: Council Headquarters, Hamilton. Hours: 35 hours per week, Permanent. Work Pattern: Monday - Friday. Salary / Hourly Rate: £24,325 - £26,150 per year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide an efficient service, producing general correspondence and documents, updating computer systems, carrying out filing, photocopying, scanning and dealing with stationery orders and internal and external mail to support operational staff.
- Communicate and present information clearly, including liaising with internal and external customers while dealing with specialist clerical activities in accordance with established procedures and standards.
- Provide comprehensive admin support to operational colleagues, undertaking a range of clerical tasks.
- Assist with the registration of births, deaths and marriages and all licensing activities (including taxis, gaming, short-term lets and liquor licenses).
- Display commitment to learning and enhancing understanding of the role; work to tight deadlines; demonstrate problem solving, team working and first-class communication skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience of working in a busy office environment undertaking various clerical tasks and working to tight timescales.
- Excellent organisational skills to support regulatory activities and licensing processes.
- Good keyboard, oral and written communication skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
