Job Overview: Transforming learning and teaching to inspire learners and improve attainment. The Head Teacher will lead the school, delivering a 21st century curriculum and driving the Council’s educational priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the affairs of the school to the benefit of pupils and the wider community in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Formulate clear aims for the school and develop policies to achieve them within the framework of the Council’s policies.
- Communicate aims and policies to all staff, pupils, parents and other users of the school.
- Act on behalf of the Council as the principal professional adviser to the Parent Council, supporting parental engagement and family learning.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must hold or be able to obtain the Standard for Headship within 30 months of appointment. A successful attainment of the Standard for Headship is mandatory.
- Registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
- Approval of the Roman Catholic Church under section 21 (2A) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980.
- Overseas Criminal Records Check for applicants born outside the UK or who have lived for a continuous period of three months or more outside the UK in the last ten years.
- Requirement to register with the PVG Scheme or undergo an update check prior to formal offer.
Benefits: The position offers a competitive salary of £82,839 per year on Head Teacher Scale 9 and a workload of 35 hours per week.
