South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team at Hamilton Water Palace as a Health and Fitness Duty Officer. You will assist the Recreation Officer in managing the day‑to‑day operation of the facilities, ensuring staff are managed, developed and reviewed to effectively deliver the Health and Fitness operation of the facility. You will deliver staff training and maintain high facility standards while improving customer retention. The successful candidate will work with our Health Team to deliver health programmes within the local community and conduct outreach work.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for financial processes, including payroll, ordering and cash management.
- Assist in maintaining budgets and trading activities.
- Ensure staff are effectively managed, developed and reviewed to deliver the operation of the facilities.
- Undertake project work involving events, building equipment and marketing within predetermined timescales.
- Provide customer care to high standards in line with the Business Plan and SLLC Strategy.
- Deliver training.
Qualifications
- A current BACR (British Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation) or PSI (Postural Stability Instructor) qualification is desirable and a Level 2 Gym instructor or equivalent qualification is essential.
Foreign Police Check: Candidates should be able to detail any gaps in employment and provide a foreign police check where applicable if you have lived or worked for 3 months or more (consecutively) abroad in the last 10 years.
