South Lanarkshire Council is looking for an experienced and committed professional to set the strategic framework for economic growth and create land use planning policies that secure quality developments across all of our communities as Planning Policy & Performance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate and deliver the preparation, review and implementation of the Local Development Plan in line with the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act and all associated regulations.
  • Oversee planning performance management, champion continuous improvement, ensure statutory compliance, and guide the effective monitoring and reporting of planning service performance.
  • Support policy development, elevate performance and make a meaningful impact through leadership of the Planning Policy & Performance function.

Requirements / Considerations

  • Work pattern: Monday - Friday.
  • Suitability under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and related safeguarding requirements; disclosure and vetting checks may apply.
