Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen in South Lanarkshire Roads, Transportation and Fleet services for a Team Leader. The role is to lead the Development Management Team in road design standards, drainage, construction methods, and transportation assessments and traffic modelling.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Development Management Team and ensure effective delivery of tasks.
- Provide expertise in road design standards, drainage, construction methods, and transportation assessments and traffic modelling.
- Assist with policy development in legislative and technical aspects (e.g., Roads Construction Consent).
- Work independently to meet specific deadlines and directions within the wider roads team.
- Commit to customer focus, service delivery, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Travel throughout the Council area as required.
- Support flexible work arrangements and contribute to the review and audit of future developments.
Qualifications
- Experience in road design standards, drainage, construction methods, and transportation assessments or traffic modelling.
- Knowledge of legislative and technical aspects relevant to roads construction and consent.
- Demonstrated project and people management experience.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to customer service and continuous improvement.

- Hours: 35 per week
- Work Pattern: Monday – Friday
- Salary: £54,783 – £59,911 per annum
- Contract: Temporary, 2 years
