An opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Parking team, responsible for the Council’s on‑and off‑street parking enforcement. The role involves undertaking patrols and issuing penalty charge notices to vehicles parked in contravention of Traffic Regulation Orders.
To succeed, you must have a good basic level of education and be able to read, understand and follow policies and procedures. Experience of working in a customer‑based environment, a good understanding of smartphones, and knowledge of personal health and safety requirements are required. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to remain composed in difficult and conflicting situations.
The role requires a customer‑focused attitude, initiative, teamwork, and the capability to work independently as well as within a team. You must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and cope with the physical and emotional demands of the job. A current driving licence is essential. Travel to various locations within South Lanarkshire will be required, using the council provided vehicle and patrolling assigned areas on foot.

Hours: 35 hours per week
Work Pattern: Working 5 days over 7, with 3 out of 4 Saturdays and 1 out of 4 Sundays
Salary: £28,358 – £28,577 annual salary
Eligibility and Requirements:

- For applicants born outside the UK or who have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period of twelve months in the past 10 years, an overseas criminal records check is required. The check must be translated into English and include an official statement confirming no history of pending criminal record proceedings.
