Location: Council Headquarters, Hamilton

Hours: 35 hours per week, Permanent

Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday 8.45am - 4.45pm, Friday 8.45am - 4.15pm

Salary: £42,228 - £43,158 per year

An exciting opportunity has arisen within South Lanarkshire Council’s Chief Executive’s Office within the Communications and Strategy service, and we are seeking to recruit a Graphic Design Officer. You will be responsible for the effective day to day coordination, implementation of Graphic Design jobs using established processes and systems. You will also be required to take briefing meetings, process job requests, deal with suppliers and work closely with colleagues to meet deadlines. You will have a key role in supporting and developing the Council’s Communication and Strategy graphics design projects and functions.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent graphic design, communication, planning and organisational skills as well as the ability to effectively protect the council’s reputation, apply council policies, coordinate and process workload and resources to meet the required service deadlines. You should have excellent IT skills (particularly in Adobe Creative Suite) and be able to use animation software, understand social media formats and requirements, be dynamic and creative, with the ability to resolve problems as they arise. You should be able to contribute to process and system developments. Successful applicants will be required to be flexible in approach in dealing with Communications and Strategies requirements.

The job is office based in Hamilton in accordance with the council's agile working policy.
