Location: Council Headquarters, Hamilton

Hours: 35hrs per week, permanent

Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday 8.45am - 4.45pm, Friday 8.45am - 4.15pm

Salary / Hourly Rate: £42,228 - £48,633

You will provide specialist advice and guidance to managers, employees and their representatives on a wide range of employee relations and involvement issues. You will help ensure our policies reflect best practice, meet legislative requirements, and support the Council’s values and service plans. You will also represent Personnel Services on internal / external groups, bodies or committees as required.

Your work will involve:

  • Liaising with managers, employees, personnel colleagues, and trade unions to ensure a consistent, supportive approach to employee relations issues.
  • Providing expert advice on discipline, grievance, dignity at work, terms and conditions, and other personnel matters.
  • Leading investigations and representing Personnel Services at hearings and meetings and producing clear, concise investigation reports with evidence-based findings, ensuring accuracy, objectivity, and compliance with policy and legislation.
  • Contributing to the development, implementation, and review of HR policies and procedures.
  • Promoting equality, inclusion, and fairness in all aspects of service delivery.

You will have a professional HR qualification and/or relevant experience in operational HR service delivery, with strong knowledge of personnel policies, employment law, and best practice. You’ll be a confident communicator with excellent organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. CIPD qualification is desirable.
