Join Westburn Nursery as an Early Years Practitioner with South Lanarkshire Council. This position offers flexible part‑time hours across the year.

Job Overview

You will work as an enthusiastic, effective member of an early years team supporting, nurturing children and creating stimulating learning opportunities. You will be an innovative educator who works in partnership with others to deliver high quality, child‑centred early years provision.

Responsibilities

  • Actively plan, coordinate and deliver programmes of learning in an Early Years Establishment.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents/carers, team members and outside agencies.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, reflecting on your role and learning from experience.
  • Support children with distressed behaviours using appropriate strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least one of the following qualifications: NNEB, HNC, SVQ 3 Children’s Care Learning & Development, SVQ 3 Early Years Care & Education, BA Early Learning and Childcare (Graduate Apprentice).
  • Current registration as a Practitioner with SSSC.
  • Experience working within an early years environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Hours & Pay

  • Hours: 14.8 or 18.5 hours per week – not term time.
  • Work pattern: Monday and Tuesday shifts between 8 am‑6 pm or Monday‑Friday afternoon shifts.
  • Hourly rate: £17.72 – £18.21 per hour.
