Job Overview

Provide support to young children in a professional setting, ensuring a high-quality care and early learning environment.

Working Hours & Salary

Hours: 17.5 hours per week (Monday & Tuesday shifts 8 am–6 pm, Wednesday morning), not during term time. Salary: £13.33 – £14.33 per hour. Work pattern: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Responsibilities

  • Support young children in a professional capacity.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents/carers and team members.
  • Work as part of a team; describe experience of team working and your role.
  • Provide personal care support (e.g., changing) in a positive and respectful manner.
  • Support children displaying distressed behaviours, using appropriate approaches.

Qualifications

Register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a support worker and hold a relevant qualification, or be willing to obtain one. Qualifications: NC in Early Education and Childcare at SCQF Level 6; SVQ 2 Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 6; SVQ 2 Children’s Care Learning and Development at SCQF Level 2.
