Vacancies within Secondary Schools for August 2026 (Permanent and Temporary Positions). It is South Lanarkshire Council’s mission to make positive meaningful changes in the lives of young people. South Lanarkshire Council adopt an inclusive approach to education. Being offered employment as a teacher may result in you working with pupils in supported classes and ASN bases within our establishments. You will assist in the delivery of the curriculum and contribute to whole school initiatives, as appropriate, with our aim of high-quality learning and teaching at the core of our education provision. You will carry out the range of duties outlined in Annexe B of "A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century".
Responsibilities
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic teachers to be part of our team. The post involves delivering the curriculum, contributing to whole-school initiatives, and fulfilling duties as outlined in Annexe B of "A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century". This may include work across primary and secondary provision as part of the education offer in South Lanarkshire.

Church Approval
Should you be successful in securing a post within a Roman Catholic school, you will be required to submit your diocese approval immediately to personnel service, to allow your recruitment checks to be carried out. Motherwell Diocese have agreed you can apply for this now at the application stage, asking for approval within any Roman Catholic primary/secondary school in South Lanarkshire. You will be required to bring your diocese approval with you to interview for the panel to review, so please begin the process of requesting this now.
