Hours: 14 hours per week, not term time
Work Pattern: Thursday and Friday shifts between 8am – 6pm
Hourly Rate: £13.33 – £14.33 per hour

About the Role
South Lanarkshire Council are looking for enthusiastic, motivated staff to support the learning and development of young children within our Early Learning and Childcare establishments. Within South Lanarkshire Council’s Education Resources it is our mission to make positive, meaningful changes in the lives of children and young people. We aim to provide an exceptional learning and working environment for children, pupils and staff, and work in partnership with parents and other professionals. South Lanarkshire Council is committed to the education, care and welfare of our children and young people in our Education Establishments. You will work as an effective member of the early Learning and Childcare Team, supporting the delivery of a high quality service which supports children and staff and contributes to a positive ethos.
Qualifications
- Applicants must register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a support worker and hold a relevant qualification.
- Candidates require to have or be willing to obtain one of the following qualifications:
- NC in Early Education and Childcare at SCQF Level 6
- SVQ 2 Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 6
- SVQ 2 Children's Care Learning and Development at SCQF Level 2
Responsibilities
- Describe previous experience of working with children in a professional capacity.
- Explain skills, abilities and experience that enable effective communication with children, parents/carers and team members.
- Describe experience working as part of a team and your role within a team.
- Describe how you would support a child who requires personal care, ensuring a positive and respectful experience.
- Describe approaches you would use to support children displaying distressed behaviours.
