EDUC 2301 – Specialist Support Teacher – Clydesdale Area (601473)
Temporary post in the Clydesdale area, working across a number of Primary/Secondary schools to support identified pupils with additional support needs. The role involves working with pupils with autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia, social and emotional behavioural needs, mental health challenges and emotional based school avoidance to help them engage with learning within the mainstream context. The post is peripatetic and travel between establishments is required daily. The successful candidate will work on an individual basis, in groups and within classes to support literacy, numeracy and HWB targets across the curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Support identified pupils with significant Additional Support Needs across multiple schools in the Clydesdale area.
- Deliver targeted literacy, numeracy and HWB support in individual, small group and classroom settings.
- Travel between establishments daily to provide specialist support.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to build capacity and support learning across learning communities.
- Contribute to training and support for staff and, when required, parents.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Breadth of teaching experience and knowledge of primary and/or secondary education.
- Enthusiastic, approachable, attachment-based practice informed and flexible in approach to engaging learners.
- Ability to travel between establishments on a daily basis.
- GTC Scotland registration (as required by law for teachers in Scottish state schools).
Terms and Salary
- Hours: 35 hours per week.
- Duration: Fixed Term up to June 2026.
- Salary: Main Grade Teacher Scale £40,305 – £50,589 per annum.
