Provide high-quality care to individuals at home, supporting independence, dignity, and well‑being. Work with the Care at Home Team on a shift basis.
Responsibilities
- Promote service users’ rights and choices and uphold values and professional practice.
- Provide flexible, person‑centred care to meet individual needs.
- Support care users in daily activities, ensuring safety, dignity, and respect.
- Respond to refusals of care or emotional distress, maintaining safety and professional communication.
- Handle difficult or unexpected situations quickly and manage risks effectively.
- Collaborate with team members and maintain accurate health‑and‑social‑care records.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum SVQ Level 2 in Social Care (or equivalent qualification). Preference for SVQ Level 3. Must hold these qualifications prior to the start of employment.
- Experience in home care or similar social care environment is highly desirable.
- Commitment to Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration and professional practice standards.
- Willingness to undertake any necessary ongoing training and professional development.
- Compliance with Scottish drug, health and safety, and disclosure requirements (e. g., PVG, Overseas Criminal Records Check where applicable).
