Provide high-quality care to individuals at home, supporting independence, dignity, and well‑being. Work with the Care at Home Team on a shift basis.

Responsibilities

  • Promote service users’ rights and choices and uphold values and professional practice.
  • Provide flexible, person‑centred care to meet individual needs.
  • Support care users in daily activities, ensuring safety, dignity, and respect.
  • Respond to refusals of care or emotional distress, maintaining safety and professional communication.
  • Handle difficult or unexpected situations quickly and manage risks effectively.
  • Collaborate with team members and maintain accurate health‑and‑social‑care records.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum SVQ Level 2 in Social Care (or equivalent qualification). Preference for SVQ Level 3. Must hold these qualifications prior to the start of employment.
  • Experience in home care or similar social care environment is highly desirable.
  • Commitment to Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration and professional practice standards.
  • Willingness to undertake any necessary ongoing training and professional development.
  • Compliance with Scottish drug, health and safety, and disclosure requirements (e. g., PVG, Overseas Criminal Records Check where applicable).
