This is a Temporary post for 2 years.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to join our Roads Design team. Playing a vitally important role in keeping our towns, villages and people moving, the main duties include the design and delivery of minor and major roads and transportation related improvement projects and new infrastructure, ensuring all works are conducted in accordance with appropriate health and safety, procurement, contract management and financial monitoring requirements.

You should be able to work under pressure to specific deadlines and directions, whilst working as part of a wider specialist team. Candidates must have experience in the use of AutoCad and other design and assessment related software. Successful candidates must have a HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent in a relevant subject, and ideally you should be an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer or working towards this. You will be expected to travel throughout the Council area.

A commitment to customer focus, service delivery and responsiveness will be vital as will the ability to commit to our constant efforts to refine, innovate and improve delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of this specialist team tasked with taking forward several important Local Transport Strategy priorities as well as progressing some key elements of the Glasgow City Region City Deal projects.
