Community & Enterprise Resources (Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services) are seeking an Operational Engineering Officer as part of a Construction Unit based in Canderside Depot. You will be an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual that will join a team who are engaged in a diverse range of road maintenance and operational activities.
You must have a broad experience of Civil Engineering works and contracting in a road maintenance environment in particular and be able to demonstrate a good in-depth working knowledge. You will have experience and knowledge of roads contracting and the ability to proactively manage a challenging workload whilst meeting tight timescales and budgets. You must be computer literate and have an up to date knowledge of health and safety. Experience of tendering, procurement and contracts, processing financial documents and transactions is desirable. You must hold a current driver’s license as you will be expected to travel throughout the area of South Lanarkshire Council, outside public transport routes. An HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) is desirable. Incorporated Engineer status with an appropriate Engineering body is desirable.
The post is advertised as full time; 35 hours per week with a Monday to Thursday 8.45am to 4.45pm and Friday 8.45am to 4.15pm. The role involves working within the Construction Unit to deliver road maintenance and related engineering activities.
