Scheduling Assistant

Location: Cambuslang/Rutherglen (Cambuslang Gate). Hours: 26.25 hours per week, permanent position. Salary: £16.07 - £16.30 per hour.

Work pattern: A four‑week rotational roster alternating day and back shifts.

Day shift: 6:30 am – 3:30 pm (also 7 am – 4 pm office‑based); Back shift: 3 pm – 11 pm.

When not in the office, staff work from home.

  • Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (dayshift)
  • Week 2 – Wednesday, Thursday (dayshift)
  • Week 3 – Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (backshift)
  • Week 4 – Wednesday, Thursday (backshift)

Responsibilities

  • Provide support services to home carers across South Lanarkshire Council, scheduling and allocating work.
  • Use IT systems to manage scheduling, maintain accurate records, and support call handling.
  • Meet the commitment to quality service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Respond to unsocial hours with additional increments.
  • Participate in training and development as required.

Key skills and experience

  • Administrative or scheduling experience in a fast‑paced or customer‑facing environment.
  • Excellent accuracy, organisation and attention to detail.
  • Strong telephone call handling and communication skills, providing calm and professional support.
  • Good computer literacy and experience with scheduling systems, databases and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing demands.
