Location: Fleet Services, 4 Livingstone Boulevard, Hamilton Technology Park, Blantyre, G72 0BP

Salary: £44,641 – £45,625 per annum.

Hours per week: 37.

Shift patterns:

  • Early Shift: Monday – Thursday 6:00 am – 2:00 pm; Friday 6:00 am – 1:30 pm.
  • Late Shift: Monday – Thursday 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm – 8:00 pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a shift across the full fleet of over 1,700 vehicles and plant, ensuring maximum asset availability from small electric cars to 32‑ton tippers.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day workshop operations, ensuring compliance with health‑and‑safety legislation and industry standards.
  • Provide support to the local community through day‑ and night‑time operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant qualification and time‑served technician with proven skills in a commercial and/or operational fleet workshop environment.
  • Comprehensive workshop management expertise, with knowledge of compliance, legislative and new technological requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience of health‑and‑safety legislation.
  • Experience in vehicle maintenance, alternative‑fuel vehicles and MOT standards.
  • Current full Category B driving licence; LGV/PCV licence desirable – training may be provided.
  • Willingness to progress to an HGV driving licence and a Driver CPC qualification.
  • Overseas Criminal Records Check required for applicants born outside the UK or who have lived or worked abroad for a continuous period of twelve months in the past ten years.
