This permanent role offers a fantastic opportunity for a driven finance professional with a strong background in management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and partnering with operational teams. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between finance and business operations, providing essential insights to support strategic decision-making.   • Prepare and provide timely monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.
  • Work closely with operational teams and support functions to develop and support business partnering initiatives.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across business projects.
  • Carry out detailed analysis of business performance, including costs, revenue, and margins to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate and complete project WIP reporting and supervise payroll preparations.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all financial records are fully reconciled.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, providing schedules and explanations for year-end audits.
  • Identify opportunities for system and process improvements, contributing to the efficiency of finance functions.
  • Supervise and mentor members of the finance team, supporting their development and workload management.

Qualified or qualifying accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with extensive experience in management accounts and financial reporting. Proven experience working within a business involving accounting and finance functions, ideally within engineering or project-based environments. Strong technical accounting skills, with proficiency in Sage and Excel. Excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Adept at communicating complex financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and senior management. Ambitious, proactive, and personable, with a keen eye for continuous process improvement. Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business growth strategies. Ability to influence at all levels of the organisation and work collaboratively across functions, including HR and IT.
