About theRole
As a ClinicalPsychologist (iCAMHS, Mental Health), you will be working with infants,children and adolescents with moderate to severe mental health needs up to theage of 18 years. As part of the Nelson / Tasman -based teams, you will beworking closely alongside other psychologists and be part of a largermultidisciplinary team. You will be working either in the Nelson, Motuekaand/or Golden Bay ICAMHS outpatient clinics
- Aspart of this team, you will be involved in managing psychology referrals andproviding psychological perspectives at MDT for routine and complex cases.
- Asa member of APEX you will be able to access a significant ContinuingProfessional Development fund and will be supported by your manager to attendrelevant trainings.
- Youwill receive collegial support via your local and the wider psychology team.
- Youare strongly encouraged to participate in and initiate service developmentprojects as appropriate. You will also be encouraged to take up opportunitieswhich expose you to organisational and operational matters as they occur.
There areopportunities for providing supervision to psychology colleagues and colleaguesof other disciplines.
This is a permanent, part-time role working 64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE), Tuesday toFriday, between the hours of 8.00AM to 4.30PM.

About theTeam/Service/ Location
ThePsychological Team ~ we are a team of over 25 psychologists located acrossNelson, Blenheim and Golden Bay. We are a generalist service, althoughwherever possible we can support you to further personal interests and theprovision of psychological services to sub speciality fields. We work across,adult, child, addictions, inpatient and health services.
We valuecollegiality and are looking for someone who shares this approach. We needsomeone who has an aptitude for working within a public funded health system.
We arecommitted to ensuring clinicians are engaged in ongoing professionaldevelopment and that they have the right supervision to support them in this.Both the NZ Psychological Society and the NZ College of Clinical Psychologisthave active branches in the Nelson area and provide opportunities for membersto attend training and maintain connections with psychologists in privatepractice.
We havelinks with tertiary institutions and support training programmes throughstudent placements and internships. You can mentor and or supervise students onplacement.

About you
As a ClinicalPsychologist, you will:
- Have post-registrationexperience in a mental health setting and up-to-date knowledge ofpsychological interventions relating to mental health issues;
- Have excellent interpersonal andorganisations skills and will be an active participant in ourmultidisciplinary teams;
- Be the type of person who fitsinto a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour,and respect across disciplines;
- Engender confidence, trust andrapport with clients and their support networks;
- Be passionate about providingpsychological interventions for infants, children, adolescents and theirfamilies.
Thesuccessful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZvisa at the time of applying.
