About the Role
As an Anaesthetist Technician / RNAA, you will:
- Assist anaesthetists during surgeries bypreparing and handling anaesthetic equipment;
- Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure patientsafety and comfort during procedures;
- Maintain anaesthetic equipment and stocksupplies;
- Collaborate closely with surgical teams tosupport seamless and efficient operating theatre operations;
- Comply with hospital policies and safetystandards, maintaining a high standard of patient care.
This is a Fixed Term role for up to 12 months, coveringparental leave.
The hours are 56 hours per fortnight (0.7 FTE). Shifts are flexible' rostered and rotating Monday to Sundayincluding evenings, weekends and on-call.

Nelson Hospital, part of the Nelson Marlborough Healthsystem, provides a supportive and dynamic environment for healthcareprofessionals dedicated to high-quality patient care. Its theatre Suiteconsists of 6 Operating Theatres with a Recovery Room, a Sterile Servicesdepartment and Endoscopy suite Our Anaesthetic Department is a well-equipped,collaborative team, focused on safe and effective surgical outcomes. Surgicalspecialties covered include General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology,Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dental, Acute/Trauma, Paediatrics, Plastics andVascular.

About you
To be considered for this position you must:
- Be a Registered Anaesthetic Technician or aRNAA, with a current APC issued by The Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand(MSCNZ) or be eligible for the same;
- Have relevant experience in an anaesthetic orperioperative setting is preferred;
- Have strong attention to detail, effectivecommunication, and team collaboration skills;
- Be ability to work flexible hours to meet theneeds of the department and cope with a high and varied workload, includingemergency situations.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in NewZealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
