Role and responsibilities
- Act as the local SEND and Inclusion coordinator, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Line manage LSAs and ELSAs, including performance management, wellbeing support, and development.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of ALS staff.
- Coordinate day-to-day operational issues, working with senior college leadership.
- Oversee EHCP provision, ensuring outcomes are achieved and support is impactful.
- Monitor and evaluate support strategies, adapting provision where needed.
- Chair Annual Reviews and ensure full compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
- Support transitions into, within, and beyond college to enhance student experience and progression.
- Work with senior leads to secure High Needs Funding and ensure timely applications.
- Plan and manage LSA timetables to optimise support deployment across students, including apprentices and adult learners.
- Work closely with curriculum and support teams to ensure effective support strategies.
- Liaise with external professionals, local authorities, and specialist agencies.
- Contribute to Local Authority consultations and decision-making processes for new students.
- Support learning walks and quality improvement initiatives to enhance inclusive teaching practices.
- Deliver and contribute to staff CPD on SEND and inclusive approaches.
- Play an active role in the wider group inclusion strategy to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure accurate Annual Review reporting and documentation in line with processes.
- Respond to queries from students, staff, and applicants, providing advice and guidance.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of SEND needs and effective support strategies.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion across all activities.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain professional standards, engage in CPD, and contribute to a culture of integrity and excellence.

- Ensure that the college develops and maintains a constructive relationship with appropriate external stakeholders relevant to the post holder's areas of responsibility.

- Ensure that the Health and Safety policy and procedures operated by the college are adhered to and that all statutory requirements are met by all staff with post holder's areas of responsibility.
